DRUNKEN NIGHTS IV

Each year we put out a call to artists, asking for proposals / ideas for 10 minute performances, and we select around 18 of these to present at our events in Autumn – this year we called these the ‘Starters’.

From these 10 minute pieces we chose three to support further. We provided the artists / companies with a week of free rehearsal space, three sessions with a professional mentor (Third AngelUrsula MartinezNic Green), a small production budget and advice and guidance from us.

These three pieces were be shown as a triple-bill at the same pubs in March 2016 – the ‘Mains‘.

This year we launched the DRUNKEN NIGHTS season with a special one-off event in Preston (the ‘Appetisers‘). We invited some of our favourite artists to perform, in partnership with the lovely folks at Derelict – a public programme of contemporary performance.

Events in Sheffield and London were presented with the support of Theatre Delicatessen, and each of these events featured an invited guest artist (Tonight’s Special).
