Performance

We create contemporary theatre that tours the UK and abroad. Our work explores what it means to live in the world and how we, as human beings, make sense of our environment.

We make shows that change in style from one to the next, from stand-up comedy inspired pieces, to a horror performance without words, characters or narrative! We’re always looking for new ways to work, and new approaches to try.

  • Sheena is bathed in pink and blue light. She has her hand on her hip and a serious face her eyes hidden by sunglasses. She holds a small whiteboard with the words "She is failing" handwritten on.

    Love and Then Lighthouses

    2019

Through imagined stories, fantasy gigs and handmade aesthetics, a lone performer tells the tale of a little boat lost at sea. A show full of disco lights, smoke machines and beacons in the darkness.

  • Sheena and Chris sit in the forest surrounded by balloons on a sunny day. They both wear party clothes and sunglasses. Sheena wears one party hat while Chris wears three. Sheena holds a flower garland and looks at Chris who looks straight ahead.

    Just Like Larry Walters

    2015

Two performers attempt to piece together one man’s magical solo balloon flight; only to find themselves surrounded by half-inflated party balloons, scraps of rubber and burst bubbles.

  • Chris is on stage behind a microphone and looks like he's singing and mid dance move. Behind him, three audience members have been roped into being backing dancers. Chris wears a white t-shirt with the words 'I love grandma' in capital letters

I Never Told A Joke In My Life

    2013

An endless list of all the things that could happen in a comedy act - from fights with the audience, to sing-a-longs, walk-outs and long drawn-out deaths.

  • Sinister. A dark stage bathed in red light. Two performers have sacks tied over their heads. One performer wears a dress and stands in a spotlight, the other is sat on a chair - it looks like his hands are tied behind his back.

    And Hell Followed With Them

    2011

A descent into darkness, fear and the grotesque, and an exploration of how rhythms, repetition and motifs create tension and suspense within the horror genre. A performance full of darkness and silence; a performance that lies always in the shadow of some horrific act.

  • A long thin piece of green fur material with plastic daffodils and a festoon of lights sticking out. Chris lies on the floor behind it, he wears a suit and speaks into a microphone. On the stage there is also a can of beer and a disco ball

What do you think of it so far?

    2011

A tragically doomed attempt by a solo performer to resurrect the tradition of the ‘double-act’.

  • Wearing a suit, Chris waves his arm, although the image is blurry so the arm just looks like a smudge of colours. In the background, red fairy lights hang, they are in sharp focus.

Lost & Found [or the friend we never knew]

    2007

A performance charting the journey of two naively optimistic dreamers as they set out in search of the friend they never knew.
