A Bit Of A Do is festival of theatre, dance and cabaret by disabled and non-disabled artists, produced by Drunken Chorus.

For the 2021 installment of the festival we will provide 7 disabled artists / companies with the opportunity to present a short performance idea at the closing night of the festival.

3 of these artists will then be selected to receive development support to turn the idea into a finished performance for the festival in 2022.

This support will include:

  • 3 mentoring sessions with an established artist;

  • 1 week of rehearsal space at a London venue;

  • A bursary of £1,000 towards the project;

  • Advice sessions from the Drunken Chorus team;

  • Access support (eg BSL interpreters).

Artists are invited to submit their proposals for short performance ideas by 12pm on Friday 22 October 2021.

Proposals are welcome for work that is:

  • 15 minutes or less in total length;

  • Low tech (at least for the initial sharing);

  • In the early stages of development;

  • Contemporary performance: dance, theatre or cabaret;

  • Created by disabled led artists and/or disabled led companies

We are particularly keen to hear from:

  • Artists / companies living / working in the London Borough of Croydon

  • Deaf and Hard of Hearing artists / companies
