Drunken Chorus is a contemporary performance company working across a variety of forms, including theatre, installation, cabaret events and durational pieces. Whilst the company's work often changes dramatically from one project to the next, it has at its core a strong visual style. The work often plays with theatrical landscapes through text, soundscapes and movement sequences. Drunken Chorus are constantly seeking to explore new ground, to find new ways of making work - from text-based comedy, to a wordless horror performance - nothing is ever off the table!

DRUNKEN NIGHTS (2012/2013)

The first phase of DRUNKEN NIGHTS has now come to an end. We presented six evenings of performances by early career artists; fusing stand-up, theatre, live-art, music, magic, and even karaoke - all created specifically for a pub setting. Events took place in London at The Trafalgar Arms in Tooting, The STAR* in Highgate and Rich Mix in Bethnal Green.

120 artists applied to take part in the project, and we were able to chose just 18 to show short pieces at the first three events. We then selected 3 of these artists to development support, including a production budget, rehearsal space at Rich Mix and mentoring sessions with Franko B, Cathy Naden (Forced Entertainment) and Adam James.

These 3 supported artists / companies returned to The Trafalgar Arms and THE STAR* to perform their finished shows, and we are currently planning a UK tour of this triple-bill.

DRUNKEN NIGHTS is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, as well as Rich Mix (Bethnal Green) and Wandsworth Arts Grants.
